Support a startup empowering smallholder farmers in Zambia 🌽

AgriEn Network: We provide platforms that bring together various food system actors to co-create solutions for the food system challenges. This includes platforms to enhance agri technology transfer and adoption among smallholder farmers to enhance their productivity.

Zambia is increasingly facing challenges of food access, availability, affordability, effective food utilisation and sustainable food production. This is coupled with increasing silos among the various food system actors such as government, private sector, civil societyknowledge generators and farmers. These silos are resulting in inefficient application and allocation of resourcea to deliver impactful Food System based interventions. Conversely, a number of vulnerable people including women and youth have not had decent opportunities to achieve social and economic results from their participation in the food system activities.

AgriEn Network develops various platforms to: Promote food system based knowledge exchange. (Research, Skills transfer and information, Sku2farm programme). Promote and Facilitate investment in agriculture and agribusiness (B2B linkages). Promote Networking and co-creation among Food system actors (Co working space for start ups and Agri based organisations). Agri-innovation promotion (Project management commercialisation of innovative Agri solutions).

Role (Volunteer): Social Media Content Manager.

Role Description: The responsibilities of a Content Developer for social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (formerly Twitter) for AgriEn Network would involve creating, curating, and managing content that aligns with the organization’s mission to expose children to agri-careers, provide hands-on farm tours, and connect young minds with mentors.

Here are the key responsibilities:

Content Creation and Curation

  1. Develop engaging and educational content tailored to the target audience
  2. Create posts, stories, and updates that highlight Agriens work
  3. Curate relevant content from industry sources to share with followers, ensuring it aligns with AgriEn Network’s goals.

Social Media Management

  1. Manage and schedule posts across Facebook, LinkedIn, and X to maintain a consistent presence.
  2. Monitor social media feeds and profiles, responding to comments and messages in a timely manner.
  3. Promote the organization’s image by posting regular updates, news, and success stories.

Audience Engagement

  1. Engage with followers by creating interactive content such as polls, Q&A sessions, and live videos to foster community interaction.
  2. Collaborate with internal teams to gather content ideas and ensure alignment with broader marketing and communication strategies.

Analytics and Reporting

  1. Analyze social media performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of content and adjust strategies as needed.
  2. Generate reports on engagement, reach, and other key performance indicators to inform future content decisions.

SEO and Optimization

  1. Ensure content is optimized for search engines and platform-specific requirements to enhance visibility and engagement.
  2. Stay updated on industry trends and audience preferences to keep content relevant and engaging.
  3. Collaboration and Advocacy
  4. Create visually appealing content.
  5. Advocate for the end user’s experience in all content discussions to ensure it is user-friendly and impactful.

Time Commitment: Volunteer 4-6 hours per week for 6+ months remotely 💻
