Seek and Sight is a web-based educational platform that teaches sight words to children with learning disabilities through STEM concepts, social-emotional learning, and personalized, curriculum-aligned tools. Seek and Sight addresses critical social and educational challenges that impact children with learning disabilities, their families, and underserved communities.

Role (Volunteer): Senior AI Integration Specialist (Personalized Learning & Analytics)

Role Description: As the Senior AI Integration Specialist for Seek and Sight, you will lead the development and implementation of intelligent, adaptive learning systems that drive our mission to transform literacy for neurodiverse learners. This role is ideal for a seasoned AI engineer or machine learning specialist with a passion for building ethical, impactful EdTech solutions.

You will be responsible for designing and deploying AI-driven features that personalize learning paths, track student progress in real time, and enhance both blended and social learning experiences within the platform. Your contributions will help ensure Seek and Sight adapts to the individual needs, challenges, and preferences of every child using the app.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Personalized Learning Systems

Architect and train recommendation models to deliver sight word content based on each learner’s behavior, skill level, and progress.

Implement AI-driven pacing, differentiated content delivery, and adaptive hints or scaffolds.

🔹 Progress Tracking & Learning Analytics

Develop systems to monitor, record, and analyze student engagement, accuracy, response time, and learning patterns.

Provide real-time feedback loops for learners, educators, and caregivers.

Create intuitive dashboards for teachers and therapists to track academic and emotional development.

🔹 Blended & Social Learning Enhancements

Design features that promote collaborative learning—AI-moderated challenges, peer learning paths, and classroom-based group missions.

Support blended use cases where educators supplement digital games with offline activities and guided interventions.

🔹 Integration & Ethics

Ensure all AI systems are compliant with data privacy laws (COPPA, FERPA, GDPR).

Build explainable AI frameworks with transparency around decision-making logic.

Contribute to equitable AI that adapts fairly to neurodiverse learning patterns and avoids algorithmic bias.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML development, ideally in EdTech, HealthTech, or child-centered platforms
• Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks
• Experience with recommendation systems, NLP, computer vision, or behavioral analytics
• Strong knowledge of accessibility, UX, and ethical AI design
• Ability to translate educational psychology into machine learning strategies
• Familiarity with integrating AI systems into gamified or mobile-first platforms

Preferred Tools:

Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Firebase, Unity/Unreal (for game logic), GitHub, Notion, REST APIs, Google Cloud AI/ML tools, Figma for collaboration.

Time Commitment: Volunteer 10+ hours per week for a one-off project remotely 💻
