The Bra Recyclers: Our mission is to promote a sustainable future by collaborating with retailers and their customers to recycle lingerie, reduce textile waste, and enhance environmental and community stewardship.
We provide underwear to over 140 organizations worldwide and 22 Title 1 schools in the Phoenix area. Access to proper hygiene and clean underwear is crucial for promoting confidence, self-esteem, and security. These factors are essential for individuals to break the cycle of poverty and achieve success within their community.
In our operations, we collaborate with local organizations to create job opportunities for individuals with disabilities. They assist in sorting, boxing, and managing the warehouse.
We also work with retailers to offer a more responsible and sustainable solution for disposing of their overstock and returns rather than resorting to landfills.
Role (Volunteer): Social Media & Content Marketing Manager.
Role Description: The Bra Recyclers and our nonprofit arm, The Undie Chest, are on a mission to restore dignity, empower women, and protect the planet. Through sustainable textile recycling and providing new underwear to those in need, we’ve created a movement that supports survivors of breast cancer, domestic violence, and human trafficking — while reducing the environmental impact of textile waste.
We are a bold, women-owned social enterprise that believes creativity and community can change the world. If you’re ready to put your skills to work for something bigger than yourself, we’d love for you to join us.
The Role
We’re looking for a creative, strategic, and impact-driven Social Media Marketing Manager to help amplify our story and inspire action. This role is about more than just posting — it’s about building conversations, growing communities, and crafting content that makes people stop, think, and engage.
Your creativity will directly fuel campaigns that recycle bras, support women and girls in need, and shift mindsets about sustainability and dignity.
What You’ll Do
• Develop and lead social media strategies that grow awareness, engagement, and community for both The Bra Recyclers and The Undie Chest.
• Create, curate, and manage inspiring content (posts, graphics, videos, blogs, stories) across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and more.
• Experiment with AI tools and creative platforms like Canva to design fresh, thought-provoking, and impactful content.
• Track analytics to understand what’s working and adjust strategies for maximum reach and engagement.
• Manage and nurture online conversations — responding to comments, messages, and community questions with warmth and professionalism.
• Build relationships with influencers, retail partners, and ambassadors who can help share our mission.
• Support the development of campaigns, newsletters, and storytelling materials that highlight our programs and impact.
• Bring creativity and “outside the box” thinking to everything you do — from campaign ideas to community-building efforts.
What You Bring
• 3+ years of experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing (nonprofit or social enterprise experience a plus).
• Strong storytelling skills and the ability to write engaging, clear, and mission-aligned content.
• Hands-on skills in creating social media graphics/videos (Canva, AI content tools, or similar).
• Comfort with social media management and analytics tools.
• Curiosity and creativity — always looking for new ways to inspire action and spark conversation.
• Passion for sustainability, women’s empowerment, and making a social impact.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
What We Offer
• A purpose-driven role where your creativity helps restore dignity and confidence for women and girls worldwide.
• Flexible, remote work with a passionate and supportive team.
• Opportunities for professional growth in social enterprise, sustainability, and digital marketing.
• The chance to help shape the voice and direction of a bold brand that’s leading change in the fashion industry.
This is currently a volunteer role with potential for future consulting or paid opportunities based on performance and organizational growth.
If you’re a creative thinker who loves turning ideas into action, and you’re ready to use your talents to make an impact, we want to hear from you!
Time Commitment: Volunteer 7-9 hours per week for 3-5 months remotely 💻
