Role (Volunteer, unpaid): AI/Machine Learning Engineer

Role Description: As a Volunteer AI / Machine Learning Engineer, you will help design and implement AI-driven solutions that enhance ZEF's programs, automate workflows, and support data-informed decision-making. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities where artificial intelligence can create measurable social impact.

Key Deliverables

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for nonprofit use cases.
• Research and evaluate AI solutions that improve operational efficiency and program delivery.
• Develop AI-powered features such as chatbots, recommendation systems, document processing, or predictive analytics.
• Prepare, clean, and analyze datasets for model training and evaluation.
• Integrate AI models into existing web or mobile applications through APIs.
• Monitor, test, and optimize model performance and accuracy.
• Document model architecture, datasets, and implementation processes.
• Collaborate with software developers, designers, and project teams to deliver AI solutions that align with organizational goals.
