Opportunity:
Womp is looking for an experienced backend engineer to help us build the next generation of our 3D creation platform. You will work with a team of front-end engineers, graphics researchers, and senior leadership to design and build the critical back-end services that drive Womp. We are a small but steadily growing team, and this position will be essential in shaping the future of our product, team, and company culture. Check out our product hunt page. Responsibilities:
Build, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs to power our platformWork with the CTO and other senior engineers to make high-level architecture and design decisionsContribute to our continuous efforts to improve our development infrastructure and processesHelp communicate and implement best practices across the engineering teamPerform and participate in code reviewsIdentify and resolve performance bottlenecksCollaborate and participate in team meetings and daily standupsAbility to multitask and adapt within an agile startup environmentMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience6+ years of experience in a product-centered teamExpert experience in Linux especially Ubuntu.Deep architectural knowledge about distributed systemProficiency with Node.jsDeep understanding of API development (REST/RPC)Strong familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWSAbility to write high quality, maintainable, modular and well tested codeExperience with profiling, troubleshooting and optimizing performance of complex systemFamiliarity with Agile and Lean development practicesGood written and spoken English communication skills are essential for this roleBonus Skills:
Experience in building large-scale real-time applicationsExperience with C++ and CUDAExperience with streaming technique including WebRTCFront-end experience with React is a plusUnderstanding of 3D modeling and design is a plusWhat we offer:
