About Wunder

Wunder is building a Modern Energy Company.

We were founded with one simple vision: to address the greatest crisis of our generation by accelerating the deployment of solar energy. In doing so, we help businesses, municipalities, and schools save money by delivering clean on-site power. We convert simple warehouses into electrified industrial platforms built for the future. We enable the nation’s leading commercial and industrial real estate firms to capture the benefits of solar across their properties. We align ESG goals with revenue targets, and the renewable energy assets we’re deploying today will power America’s tomorrow.

Wunder currently holds more than $1 billion in solar assets under management and capital commitments. Our team has evaluated more than 15,000 properties for solar across all 50 states. Our average solar system - about 480 kilowatts in size - can offset 350,000 pounds of coal burned each year of system operation!

The Role

We have an amazing opportunity for a detail-oriented systems thinker and meticulous fact-finder to solve hard problems and push renewable energy forward. We’re looking for someone who works quickly and efficiently, has an eye for detail, and isn’t afraid of a challenge. As our team rapidly expands into new markets and standardizes underwriting criteria within emerging programs, we need your help!

Specifically, you’ll research constantly evolving energy markets and work cross-functionally to encode your findings in Wunder's proprietary software tools which drive Wunder's solar development. You'll scrutinize program guidelines, define revenue modeling standards, analyze program risks, and define standard modeling assumptions. You'll then work to translate that information into repeatable modeling and risk mitigation standards.

Through this process, you’ll learn a lot. Wunder’s ability to deploy assets at scale is enabled by our proprietary software platform which encodes solar market intelligence, identifies patterns across diverse markets, and automates decision making. Wunder’s experience in financing, developing, and commissioning assets has resulted in encoding thousands of rules and data points in our market intelligence platform.. As markets evolve, you’ll collaborate with Wunder’s Technology team to continuously update this dataset - encoding your research in our software, carrying it forward to improve future processes, and ensuring no lesson is lost.

If you get excited about unlocking the untapped commercial and industrial market, joining a team designed for hyper-growth, and building an organization aimed at saving the world, then this is the role for you.

About You

  • A Strong Foundation - You’re a recent graduate with a solid foundation of career experience from a previous internship, part-time, or full-time role. This could be in Project Management, Finance, Economics, Solar Development, or adjacent industries that provided you with the tools and resources to be comfortable managing details, digging into spreadsheets, conducting market research, thinking analytically, and working cross-functionally.

  • You’re Detail Oriented & Quantitative - You know that the devil is in the details and you go the extra mile to ensure all your i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed. You’re comfortable in a spreadsheet and you can translate tariff documents into modeling inputs and outputs.

  • You’re Analytical - You consider all sides and drive to the most fundamental truths, reasoning about your assumptions along the way.

  • You Crave Improvement - You communicate openly about obstacles and opportunities and you never miss an opportunity to learn, capitalizing on every event to build compounding returns into the next process. You don’t make the same mistake twice.
  • You Have a Team Ethos - You thrive in a creative, inventive, fast-paced rapid-growth environment, with people who are passionate about their work and mission. You’re not just excited to work cross-functionally, you crave it.

  • You’re Flexible, a Quick Responder - The problem we’re trying to solve as an organization is dynamic and each day brings fresh and exciting challenges. You can react quickly and efficiently when called upon to change or pivot.

  • You Believe That No Problem is Too Hard - In an industry where people are constantly stuck, we find ways to get it done. You know how to articulate and roll out solutions, recognizing there are many solutions to the same problem. You find new and effective ways to streamline and create processes to increase efficiency.
