Structural Analysis Engineer
Zeno is seeking a highly motivated Structural Analysis Engineer to support the mission-oriented efforts of developing and bringing to market Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS) technologies. In this role you will:
- Perform mechanical analyses of RPS structures, systems, components, including testing and prototype hardware during various phase of its lifecycle.
- Verify mechanical performance meets or exceeds limits of structure, regulatory, and pressure vessel codes (ASME, ASCE, AWS, etc.)
- Document all analysis results and design solution clearly and with high degree of technical quality.
- Generate test requirements documents to validate analysis results.
- Provide oversight of vendors performing mechanical analyses, review vendor engineering work to ensure consistent with all function and quality requirements of the design.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from accredited university, 6+ years focusing on relevant structural analysis (steady state and dynamic analyses)
- Proficient with FEA Tools (ANSYS preferred or similar)
- Proficient with dynamic structural analysis and vibration analysis required.
- Experience with impact analysis a plus.
- Experience with fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics is a plus.
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD programs (SolidWorks or similar)
- Experience with GD&T implementation and Analysis (ASME Y14.5) a plus.
- Experience performing activities under a quality program (NQA-1, AS 9100, or similar).
- Candidate must be a self-starter and possess ability to coordinate and lead a design team’s effort with minimal direction.
- Able to meet deadlines and perform under pressure in an uncertain environment.
- Ability to clearly demonstrate the ability to work either independently or as part of a team
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Job Functions
- Position requires in-office presence in Seattle (South Lake Union) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, remote work is optional on Mondays and Fridays.
- Travel: Travel is required, <10%
- Motor Abilities: Sitting and/or standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands)
- Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 15 pounds
- Repetitive work: Prolonged
- Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work
- Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs./day
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary band for this position is $130,000-170,000. The final job level and compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, and other business considerations.
