What You'll Do
- Serve as a trusted technical expert of safety-critical systems from concept phase to production
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, conduct analysis, and author requirements
- Develop frameworks and facilitate trade studies to optimize for performance, safety, and cost
- Create and maintain systems models, activity, sequence, and boundary diagrams
- Set the bar for hardware and software release standards and test requirements
- Partner with safety engineering and regulatory team to prove flight worthiness to regulators
- Collaborate with geo-spatial team to conduct metro-level analysis of route feasibility
- Define system requirements for route planning with consideration of population, ground obstacles, and terrain
- Collaborate with geo-spatial team on evaluation of relevant geo-spatial databases
- Support the System Safety Case framework and documentation, and present to regulators
- Participate in technical discussions with external stakeholders from the industry (i.e. ASTM)
- Develop requirements and validation methods for simulation tools
- Support root cause analysis for flight logs
What You'll Bring
Qualifications
- Experience with relevant Software Integrity process from relevant industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Rail, or others (ISO 26262, DO-178C, etc)
- Experience with conducting System Safety Assessments (FHA/HARA, FMEA, FTA)
- Familiarity with defining System Verification Plans
- Experience with common simulation tools and frameworks
- Experience identifying and quantifying Hazards
- Ability to solve challenging multi-disciplinary problems on schedule
- The ability to solve complex problems using tools and statistical analysis
- A proven record of managing requirements including definition, decomposition, and traceability
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of SOTIF or STPA approaches
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Experience with Tool Qualification
- Familiarity with safety arguments contained within the Safety Case or Safety Concept
- Familiarity defining CONOPs or Operational Design Domain (ODD)
- Experience with root-cause analysis, metric definition, and defect monitoring
- Experience with software release management, metrics, and defining release criteria
What Else You Need to Know
The starting cash range for this role is $135,000 - $175,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
