About You and The Role

We're looking for someone passionate about leading high-impact programs that are essential to scaling our cloud infrastructure at Zipline. We're tackling the challenges of optimizing our cloud infrastructure to support seamless, secure, and scalable fleet operations and order processing. In this role, you'll be key to orchestrating complex, cross-functional efforts, ensuring our technical execution aligns with our mission to deliver critical goods with speed, efficiency, and quality. What You'll Do

  • Own the infrastructure roadmap: Plan and execute cloud infrastructure projects, aligning with company goals, and shape the future direction of Zipline’s infrastructure as the company scales globally.
  • Optimize scalability and performance: Lead cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure scalability and reliability.
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies: Coordinate between engineering, security, and DevOps teams to streamline project execution, enhancing leadership skills across technical domains.
  • Improve infrastructure development velocity: Streamline workflows to accelerate deployment times, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to the long-term scalability of Zipline’s technology operations.
  • Engage throughout the entire development lifecycle: Participate in architecture reviews, sprint planning, testing, and system validation to ensure robust systems are delivered.
  • Drive strategic decision-making: Facilitate collaboration between engineers, product managers, and leadership to make key infrastructure decisions.
  • Ensure security and compliance: Work with security teams to meet high standards in infrastructure security and compliance.
  • Communicate infrastructure progress and risks: Provide regular updates on timelines, risks, and accomplishments to the executive team.
  • Lead incident management and disaster recovery efforts: Manage responses to infrastructure issues, building resilience strategies that scale with the business.

What You'll Bring

  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in cloud infrastructure design and management, with a strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related technologies such as networking, storage, and security.
  • Program Management Experience: 3+ years of experience in technical program management or project management, ideally within a fast-paced technology or logistics environment. Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects on time and within scope.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems, develop data-driven solutions, and make strategic decisions that drive project success and align with business objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide updates to executive leadership.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and departments, facilitating effective decision-making and fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Strong adaptability to changing priorities and environments, with a proactive approach to identifying risks and resolving issues swiftly.
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies: An understanding of modern software development life cycles and familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) to manage project lifecycles and enhance team collaboration.
  • Passion for Innovation: A genuine interest in drone technology, logistics, and the mission of Zipline to provide efficient, life-saving deliveries, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

What Else You Need to Know

The starting cash range for this role is $165,000 - $210,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation; overtime pay; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
