About You and The Role
We are seeking a dynamic Metrology Technician with a passion for precision measurement. In this role you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our products using advanced measurement equipment, including the FARO Roaming Arm and Hexagon Bridge CMM. You will drive accountability to our designs internally and externally and collaborate closely with our design engineers and quality engineers to understand measurement capability and manufacturing capability of parts with complex geometries.
What You'll Do
CMM Operation:
- Utilize the FARO Roaming Arm and Polyworks software to measure complex parts and components.
- Create and maintain CMM inspection routines to meet stringent quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure measurement processes align with product specifications.
3D Dimensional Analysis:
- Perform detailed 3D dimensional analysis on machined parts, assemblies and other components.
- Identify and report deviations from design specifications.
Inspection:
- Conduct thorough inspections on parts, components and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Document and report inspection results accurately, and initiate non-conformance reports when necessary.
Quality Documentation:
- Generate comprehensive inspection reports and maintain detailed records of inspection data.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality control processes and procedures.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum of 3 years CMM programming experience
- Experience with Polyworks, Calypso, PC-DMIS, or MCOSMOS
- Strong knowledge of dimensional measurement techniques and GD&T
(Geometric Dimensioning and tolerancing) - Understanding of dimensional metrology concepts such as alignments, coordinate systems, measurement uncertainty, degrees of freedom, etc.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration within cross functional teams.
- Must be able to lift 35lbs
- Must be eligible to work in the US
Bonus Qualifications
- Laser scanning or laser line probe experience will be a huge plus
- Inspection Certifications such as IPC-A610, IPC- 612, IPC-620 or ASQ CQI
- Experience operating Keyence IM8030-T Optical Measurement System
- Experience operating a FARO Arm or Hexagon Bridge CMM
