About You and The Role
As a Business Analyst on the Strategic Operations Team, you’ll play a key role in driving Zipline’s growth and operational excellence across our global network. You’ll use data to uncover insights, design and refine processes, and build the systems and tools that help our teams scale efficiently.
This is a high-ownership, hands-on role—ideal for an ambitious self-starter who thrives in dynamic environments, learns quickly, and isn’t afraid to dive into the weeds to solve complex problems. You’ll work across a wide range of topics, from data analytics to process design and systems building, directly shaping how we operate and grow as a global organization.
What You'll Do
- Partner with leaders across Strategic Operations, Maintenance Operations, Fulfillment Operations, and Test Operations to identify opportunities for operational improvement and scalability.
- Conduct data analysis using Excel, SQL, and BI tools (e.g., Mode, ThoughtSpot, Looker) to uncover trends, diagnose problems, and recommend solutions.
- Develop metrics and reporting frameworks to track performance and guide decision-making for the organization.
- Creatively design and stand-up new methodologies for data collection where it does not exist, such as time-studies or surveys.
- Create documentation to enable consistent scaling & operations.
- Support special projects across the Strategic Operations team, from process optimization to new initiative launches.
- Design and implement processes, tools, and systems that improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability across the operations organization.
- Sample work topics: establishing core metrics for management of maintenance operations, developing project management tools for launching operations in new geographies, building internal tools & systems to track and manage time, cost and quality across the operations organization.
- Travel up to 20% to work directly with field teams and test sites.
What You'll Bring
Required
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, SQL, and BI tools (such as Mode, ThoughtSpot, PowerBI, or Looker).
- Experience or interest in process design, operations, or systems building, particularly in high-growth or complex environments.
- Ability to translate quantitative findings into qualitative insights and strategic recommendations.
- Excellent written and visual communication skills; skilled at building dashboards, reports, and presentations to tell a data-driven story.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a bias toward action.
- Willingness and excitement to travel ~20% of the time.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or analytical field (STEM, Economics, or related disciplines preferred).
- Experience building custom algorithms, web applications, and other software tools to streamline internal processes.
What Else You Need to Know
The starting cash range for this role is $110,000 - $165,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
