aVenture is a San Francisco, California (USA) based financial technology startup building the future of venture capital research software. Our mission is to make venture capital investing more accessible and safer for everyone with better data.

aVenture is currently participating in the prestigious Techstars New York City accelerator (where less than 1% of startup/founder applicants are admitted) and is looking for an exceptional head of research to join our founding team. Joining our team would instantly bring you into the Techstars program and all of its resources for life.

A successful candidate accepting this position should expect to spend time in San Francisco or NYC to work closely with the team.

1. Key Responsibilities:

  • Growth Architect: Craft and execute a data-driven growth strategy for our groundbreaking VC research platform, scaling user acquisition and engagement at blistering speeds
  • Viral Visionary: Identify and implement "holy grail" viral hacks in the product, propelling aVenture's platform to widespread adoption and buzz
  • Product Whisperer: Collaborate closely with the founding and product team, providing user insights and data-driven recommendations to shape a platform that resonates with investors and startups
  • Channel Maestro: Orchestrate a multi-channel acquisition strategy, utilizing targeted PPC, organic SEO & content marketing, strategic partnerships, and community building to reach the right audience
  • Metrics Mastermind: Analyze user behavior, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and continuously optimize campaigns for maximum growth and engagement
  • Storyteller Extraordinaire: Craft compelling narratives and marketing materials that showcase the platform's unique value proposition and capture the VC community's imagination

2. Requirements:

  • Growth Hacking Jedi: 5+ years of experience leading growth initiatives for tech startups, with a proven track record of driving explosive user acquisition and engagement
  • Viral Marketing Ninja: A keen understanding of viral mechanics and a history of successfully implementing viral campaigns that ignite widespread adoption
  • Marketing Mastermind: Strong expertise in multi-channel marketing, including PPC, SEO, content marketing, social media, and community building
  • Data-Driven Decoder: Excellent analytical skills and experience using data to inform marketing decisions and optimize campaigns
  • Product Empath: Passion for understanding user needs and translating them into actionable product improvements
  • Startup Spirit: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, embrace ambiguity, and possess a "get things done" attitude

3. What We Offer:

  • An Early Opportunity: A founding role at a fintech backed by Techstars based in Silicon Valley and led by an experienced fintech CEO with a previous successful exit for the founding team
  • Unleash your Innovation: Drive and lead advances in the venture capital community with your growth initiatives that will be implemented directly on the platform
  • Compensation: This position is to join our founding team and has a tiered approach to compensation, providing an initial salary of $50,000 - $100,000, plus an equity issuance of 5-10% of the company's stock

Companies backed by Techstars typically go on to raise an investment round of > $1,000,000 following program completion and demo day. Salary and compensation will be adjusted to reflect market rates following the next fundraising round.
