This role is highly entrepreneurial in nature, helping to build the future of wellness products rooted in the science of seaweed.The Commercial Growth Associate will support the commercialization and growth of Maris Dae across DTC, retail, wholesale, and community channels.This role sits at the intersection of marketing, sales, product development, and operations. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to execute growth initiatives, support product launches, manage channel performance tracking, and help build scalable systems across the business.Our culture is creative, supportive and highly focused on natural health. The successful candidate will have a passion for this industry and some experience in retail, marketing and/or commercialization. Most importantly, they are keen and eager to learn with a growing business.This position is funded through the Youth Employment Grant and must be a recent graduate, under the age of 30 with Canadian residence, who wants hands-on exposure to building and scaling a consumer brand. Key Responsibilities1. Direct-to-Consumer Growth Support- Monitor and report weekly Shopify performance metrics (revenue, AOV, conversion, retention).- Support landing page updates, bundle creation, and merchandising optimization.- Assist with email marketing flows (Klaviyo) and lifecycle marketing initiatives.- Track affiliate and referral codes and digital campaign performance.- Maintain dashboards to measure ROAS, CAC, and customer retention. 2. Wholesale & Retail Commercialization- Support retailer outreach and follow-up communications.- Support in the management and updating of our Faire shop.- Assist in preparing retail pitch decks, sell sheets, and order forms.- Track wholesale orders and sell-through performance.- Coordinate trade show preparation and post-event follow-ups.- Support onboarding of new retail and hospitality accounts. 3. Community & Experiential Growth- Coordinate influencer and micro-creator gifting programs.- Assist in organizing wellness events, partnerships, and in-person activations.- Track community partnerships and ambassador initiatives.- Support content and UGC collection from events and brand collaborations.- Support in organic social media content creation and posting on our social media channels 4. Product Launch & Project Management- Support launch timelines for new SKUs in collaboration with production and packaging partners.- Maintain product launch checklists and commercialization readiness plans.- Execute product testing program and manage the R&D cycles- Support in the development of packaging materials and product messaging for new product launches Start Date: June 8 2026 - December 8 2026- Salary range $25,000-$30,000- This is a 6-month project with room for growth + extension Qualifications- Recent post-secondary graduate (within 1–3 years) with a degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, or related field.- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets).- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.- Interest in consumer brands, wellness, retail, or e-commerce.- Self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.- This is a grant funded opportunity; the applicant must be a resident of Canada and legally able to work in Canada i.e. permanent resident or granted a refugee status, not receiving EI, and aged 19-30 years old Bonus:- Experience with Shopify, Klaviyo, Meta Ads, Google Ads + Analytics, or basic digital analytics.- Experience with creating social media or written content.- Experience in retail, brand ambassador roles, or event support.- Interest in wellness, natural products, or sustainability.- Experience with AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Notion AI, or similar) applied to real tasks like research, writing, data analysis, or workflow automation.
