Position Summary

This position is responsible for the Children's Minnesota Foundation database, donor records, and reporting and data systems team, while also serving as a contact/liaison at the Foundation for Children's Minnesota's ITS department. The role has three broad responsibilities: report creation and execution, data management, and system operations procedures and projects. This position works closely with members of the Operations, Engagement, and Philanthropy teams with a high-level of proactive customer service. This role will ensure the integrity of the organization's data and data policies; including acute attention on database health, maintenance, and structure; strategic report customization and analysis; data retrieval; dashboards and visualization; and system security and software. Possesses the ability to translate reporting needs into effective and clear data visualization solutions that help drive action and results.

This position will have quantitative fundraising goals including dollars raised by team, and metrics related to data health and reporting. This position is responsible to develop a collaborative, results-oriented team utilizing fundraising operations and data best-practices within a donor-centered culture. This position reports to the VP of prospect Development and Data Services.

Location (e.g. remote or on-site): Remote work. Occasional on-site for team meetings, donor visits, events and tours.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience that demonstrates equivalent knowledge or skills required.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a dynamic and complex fundraising environment, ideally in pediatrics or healthcare organization.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading high performing teams.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Serves as the lead administrator, internal specialist, and first point of contact for Raiser's Edge NXT and related systems. Manages ongoing maintenance of NXT, including oversight of Engaging Networks, and other systems and tools supporting the organization's fundraising efforts.
  • Executes data reporting tasks including fulfilling or assigning data requests, or writing and designing custom reports, or pulling custom lists with a high degree of accuracy. Enforce best practices for entering and extracting data from NXT.
  • Responds to data requests from their immediate supervisor, as well as to requests from other users via the department ticketing system; may analyze potential solutions to reporting or data management challenges. May create or assist with reporting using Power BI dashboards or data visualization tools.
  • Creates SQL scripts or RE Query/Export to satisfy data needs for end users and/or internal requests, such as metrics data.
  • Strong proficiency with a relational, fundraising database/CRM, preferably Blackbaud Raiser's Edge.
  • Proficiency required with third-party fundraising tools/vendors like: Engaging Networks, Luminate Online, Omatic, DonorSearch, or WealthEngine.
  • Experience with the implementation of complex systems and process improvement - preferably Business Intelligence, automation of Raiser's Edge via RE API and related technologies.
  • Analytical skills to initiate and perform complex analyses and organize information to identify philanthropic patterns, tendencies, and relationships among individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Analytical and fact-based problem solver with high proficiency in digital tools like Excel/Teams/Sharepoint/Outlook/Word/PowerPoint.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize own workflow with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong team management and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to clearly communicate, coordinate, delegate, prioritize, lead, multitask, negotiate, organize, track and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intellectually curious with a desire to look for new ways of doing things. Track record of leading work, identifying issues and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to think strategically, work independently and with teams.
  • Proficiency in programming, preferably SQL, Python, R, or other advanced programming language, a plus.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
