Job Duties:

Coordinates and delivers internship/ career development programming, registration, resource materials, and/or advising to students. Educates students and other stakeholders about internship/ career development and opportunities and maintains relationships to aid in effective internship/ career planning. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Educates or advises students individually or in groups through various mediums about internship/ career opportunities, exploration, self-assessment, skills, materials development, and decision-making.

Develops and delivers internship/career development programming and resource materials across various mediums to provide education to students, including internship orientation sessions.

Responds to questions and provides information regarding student services, policies, procedures, employment preparation, and internship-for-credit registration.

May identify and maintain a professional network of employers or other stakeholders to facilitate career exploration and internship/employment opportunities for students.

Participates in the campus-wide career services community, providing input to leadership regarding the development of advising, recruitment, internship, and co/curricular programs offered by the university.

Compiles annual report of internship placements.

Interprets academic policy to verify internship eligibility.

Collaborates with students, faculty, advisors, staff, and employers to coordinate registration of internship credits and resolve concerns.

Coordinates internship progress reports and student internship evaluations.

The position is in-person with an option to work remotely one day per week during designated times of the year.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required by start date

  • Experience in education or advising

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to share complex information in a clear and organized manner in both verbal and written forms to a variety of audiences

  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with students and knowledge of approaches to student development

  • Demonstrated ability to give effective and engaging presentations to a variety of audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field by start date

  • Experience advising college students on academic or career related concerns

  • Demonstrated knowledge of student records systems

  • Knowledge of Career Development theories
