Under general supervision of the department chair, successful candidates will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses (if applicable) and advising students. In addition to preparing for and holding classes, teaching involves maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment, evaluating students’ work, assessing student outcomes, providing regular and substantive feedback on student work, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active, on-going program of scholarship appropriate to their discipline. In addition, faculty provide service to the department, college, university, community and/or professional organizations. Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean.
The College of Business Administration (CBA) at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse includes six academic departments and the Small Business Development Center. The CBA has over 3,000 students enrolled in one of the eight majors offered. It also offers seven minors and participates in the UW System’s online MBA consortium. Fully accredited by AACSB International, the CBA is recognized for high-quality faculty, staff, programs, and students, and maintains strong regional and global partnerships. Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Economics or related field by start date.
- Expertise in at least one of the following fields: Development Economics, Labor Economics, or Health Economics.
- Evidence of the ability to be an effective instructor.
- Evidence of clear and effective communication skills.
- A demonstrated record of publication in peer-reviewed academic journals in Labor Economics, Health Economics, Development Economics, or closely related areas.
- Experience teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: data analysis for business, labor economics, health economics, and Women in the U.S. Economy
