Our client is a high-tech company in the healthcare sector, focusing on developing AI-based solutions. Our goal is to improve the quality of medical diagnostics through automated processing and annotation of medical images.

What we do (Scope of work):

Our primary focus is designing and developing solutions for processing, storing, and analyzing large datasets. We specialize in developing enterprise systems, analytical platforms, and visualizations that allow businesses to extract valuable insights from large amounts of data. Our projects include creating GPU-accelerated databases, analytical platforms, and implementing Data Science and MLOps solutions.

Our client is developing AI solutions that analyze both static (X-rays, MRI) and dynamic medical images (e.g., ultrasound, fluoroscopy), helping doctors detect various pathologies and enhance diagnostic processes.

Why we do it:

We aim to improve the efficiency and accuracy of medical diagnostics by providing doctors with innovative tools for automatic image annotation and analysis. This leads to faster and more precise disease detection, ultimately improving patient outcomes.

Project Overview:

The next phase of our medical platform involves integrating a dynamic image annotation module into our existing system. The main goal is to create a flexible system capable of automatically annotating both static and dynamic data, improving the efficiency of how doctors interact with the system.

Current project tasks:

• Integratу of the new Viewer and its testing.

• Create an MVP and prepare for the final product launch.

• Develop a connector service for data transfer between the annotation system and our core platform.

• Set up authentication and integration between the annotation tool and our platform.

• Customize the platform’s interface and integrate it with the annotation tool.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational deployment of the annotation tool on our platform:

• Utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.

• Setting up and managing Helm and Kubernetes.

• Ensuring operational readiness: monitoring, alerts, and disaster recovery.

• Authentication integration between the annotation tool and our core platform.

• Developing a connector service to publish data to the annotation tool and receive annotations.

• Customizing and configuring our platform’s interface:

• Adding functionality to the frontend as needed.

• Integrating the annotation tool interface as a plugin or separate tab for viewing.

• Customizing user styles with CSS.

• Leading the engineering team and coordinating with the international team.

Project and Position Goals:

• Develop a prototype by early 2025.

• Establish a new department for long-term client support.

• Hire a leader capable of organizing the team and heading the department.

Our Team:

The core engineering team is supported by an international team. The new team will include:

• Chief Engineer/Architect (this position).

• Implementation and support specialists.

• Tester for dynamic data.

Technical Stack:

• Languages and platforms: Python (Django), Java, TypeScript, JavaScript.

• Frontend Development: React, Angular.

• Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cloud RDS.

• Platform Support: Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Ops.

• Cloud Storage: AWS S3, Azure Blobs, Google Cloud Storage.

• Multi-Attach volumes in Kubernetes.

• Experience with the source code of the annotation tool: Python/Django, TypeScript/React.

What we expect from the candidate:

Technical Skills:

• Experience with image annotation tools and their integration into platforms.

• Proficiency in Python/Django and TypeScript/React.

• Expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform for orchestration and infrastructure management.

• Knowledge of Helm and Ops practices for deployment and application support.

• Experience setting up authentication between systems (OAuth, SAML, JWT).

• Skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and experience with Cloud RDS.

• Experience with cloud storage solutions (AWS S3, Azure Blobs, Google Cloud Storage).

• Experience modifying and integrating the source code of annotation tools.

Leadership and Management Skills:

• Strong leadership skills and team management experience.

• Ability to develop and implement strategies for integrating new technologies.

• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.

• Strategic thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Education:

• A higher technical education (preferably a Master’s or PhD degree).
