Senior QA Engineer

Location: San José, Costa Rica

Format: Hybrid, Monday to Friday

Our customer is a fast-growing software development company delivering innovative solutions to clients around the world, with a strong focus on the U.S. market. Headquartered in sunny San Diego, California, they’ve built a team of over 300 talented professionals across multiple countries. Their success comes from a deep commitment to results and long-term partnerships built on trust.

They are now building something exciting in Costa Rica—a new development hub in partnership with a leading U.S. marketing agency trusted by brands like American Express, T-Mobile, Coach, and Meta.

They are seeking a Senior QA Engineer who combines a sharp eye for detail with a can-do attitude, thrives in multitasking environments, and communicates effectively across teams. If you’re passionate about quality and want to make an impact on projects seen by millions, this is the role for you.

What You’ll Do?

As a Senior QA Engineer, you’ll own the quality of everything we deliver. Your day-to-day will include:

• Safeguarding that every deliverable meets or exceeds expectations.

• Designing, authoring, and executing high-quality test plans for a wide range of digital

experiences: responsive websites, mobile content, kiosks, and more.

• Performing manual testing across devices, browsers, viewports, and user agents using both

physical and virtual setups.

• Validating publishing workflows and content accuracy, ensuring strict alignment with

requirements.

• Proactively searching for bugs from broken flows to cross-browser inconsistencies, cross-

platform errors, and even content issues like misspellings.

• Documenting defects effectively: evaluating severity, providing clear reproduction steps,

and making triage recommendations.

• Collaborating closely with PMs, BAs, developers, designers, and producers to isolate issues

and keep quality at the center of delivery.

• Escalating blockers when needed, while always being ready to propose solutions and keep

projects on track.

Qualifications & Experience. We’re looking for someone who brings both hands-on experience

and the mindset of a true quality advocate. The ideal candidate will have:

• 3–5 years of proven experience in QA, testing responsive websites, mobile content, kiosks,

and other web-based experiences.• A Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent professional experience.

• Demonstrated ability to design and execute high-quality test plans.

• A track record of spotting issues—from bugs and broken flows to misspellings, cross-

browser inconsistencies, and cross-platform errors.

• Strong skills in evaluating defects: assessing severity, documenting clearly, writing

reproducible steps, and making triage recommendations.

• Solid understanding and application of accessibility best practices and standards.

• Confidence working in Agile environments and with tools like JIRA.

• Experience collaborating across diverse teams and industries (healthcare, marketing, e-

commerce experience is a big plus).

• The ability to identify opportunities to improve technical SEO on new pages.

• Hands-on experience with Enterprise CMS / DXPs and their publishing workflows.

• Familiarity with automated testing platforms.

• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.

• Practical experience with accessibility testing tools and methodologies.
