Senior Backend Engineer (Proxy & Infrastructure)

Join the Team Behind One of the Largest Residential Proxy Networks in the World

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a fully remote, engineering-driven product company building large-scale networking infrastructure, AI-powered automation tools, and distributed systems operating globally.

Who Are We?

We are a remote-first infrastructure and product company focused on building:

  • Global proxy networking infrastructure
  • Managed APIs for large-scale scraping and data collection
  • AI-powered automation platforms
  • Distributed backend systems operating at massive scale

One of our core products is a cross-platform Monetization SDK that enables applications to offer users an alternative payment model — sharing small amounts of unused computing resources instead of paying through subscriptions or ads. Today, the platform powers millions of users across desktop, mobile, and smart TV ecosystems worldwide. The company is founder-led and backed by experienced entrepreneurs with multiple successful venture-backed exits.

What Do We Do?

We build and operate high-scale infrastructure powering:

  • Residential proxy networking
  • Large-scale data collection systems
  • AI-assisted automation products
  • Traffic routing and distributed networking services
  • Backend systems handling billions of requests and petabytes of traffic

The engineering challenges here sit deep in networking, Linux performance optimization, distributed systems, and high-concurrency backend architecture.

Why Do We Do It?

Modern AI products, automation platforms, and large-scale internet services require reliable infrastructure capable of operating globally and efficiently. Our mission is to build the infrastructure layer that enables scalable, intelligent, and data-driven products without compromising on performance or reliability.

How Do We Work?

We operate as:

  • Remote-first and async-friendly
  • Highly engineering-focused
  • Fast-moving and product-oriented
  • Ownership-driven rather than process-heavy
  • AI-forward in both development and operations

The culture is built around trust, autonomy, technical curiosity, and delivering meaningful impact instead of endless bureaucracy.

Who Works Here?

You’ll join a small, highly experienced engineering team working across:

  • Backend infrastructure
  • SDK development
  • Distributed systems
  • Networking & observability
  • Data platforms

The environment is collaborative, low-ego, and technically strong. English is the working language, and communication is primarily async-first.

Why Is This Role Open?

As the platform and traffic scale continue to grow, the company is expanding its core Proxy & Infrastructure team to improve:

  • Reliability
  • Scalability
  • Performance optimization
  • Observability
  • Global infrastructure operations

This role is essential for scaling systems operating at millions-of-nodes level.

Who Are We Looking For?

We’re searching for someone who genuinely enjoys:

  • Systems programming
  • Networking infrastructure
  • Linux internals
  • Performance optimization
  • Debugging complex production systems

You’ll likely thrive here if you prefer ownership over micromanagement and enjoy solving difficult infrastructure-level engineering challenges.

What Professional Skills Are Important to Us?

Core Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in systems programming and network programming
  • 3+ years of commercial Go experience
  • Experience building high-concurrency production services
  • Strong Linux knowledge (networking stack, syscalls, process model, performance fundamentals)
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP and UDP behavior under load
  • Production profiling and debugging experience (pprof, runtime metrics, tracing, heap/goroutine analysis)
  • Strong communication and ownership mindset
  • Comfortable using modern AI/agentic coding tools in daily work

Bonus Experience

  • Linux kernel/network performance tuning
  • eBPF/XDP, NUMA, IRQ affinity, NIC optimization
  • WebSocket infrastructure at scale
  • Prometheus/OpenTelemetry/VictoriaMetrics/ClickHouse
  • AWS infrastructure
  • Zero-downtime deployments
  • Production incident response
  • C/C++ or Rust experience for systems-level development

What Will You Do in the Project?

You will:

  • Build and operate high-performance Go services
  • Improve reliability and scalability of the global proxy infrastructure
  • Diagnose bottlenecks across application, runtime, and kernel layers
  • Implement new networking backend functionality
  • Own observability and performance metrics
  • Contribute to deployment and infrastructure scaling strategies
  • Collaborate closely with SDK, backend, data, and product teams

What Do We Offer?

Remote & Flexibility

  • Fully remote setup
  • Flexible working schedule
  • Preferred overlap of at least 4 hours with GMT+2

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package
  • Equity incentive plan
  • Unlimited vacation and sick days
  • Health insurance reimbursement
  • Remote workspace compensation

Engineering Environment

  • Real infrastructure scale
  • High-impact technical ownership
  • AI-forward engineering culture
  • Complex networking and distributed systems challenges
  • Minimal bureaucracy and fast decision-making

What Is Our Hiring Process?

The process is conversational and focused on real-world engineering thinking rather than theoretical puzzles.

Interview Stages

  1. Intro Call — 30 min
  2. Manager Interview — 30–60 min
  3. Technical Interview(s) — 60–90 min
  4. Final Interview — 30 min

The company values:

  • Practical engineering experience
  • Systems thinking
  • Ownership mentality
  • Communication and collaboration
