🤖 About Us

We build robots that operate where no other robots can.

Born out of NASA JPL's work on the DARPA Subterranean Challenge, Revolute Robotics is redefining where inspection and surveillance robots can access. Our mission is to keep humans out of harm’s way using an entirely new class of robots—enabling safer, smarter data collection across for industrial inspections, area surveillance, and first responders.

We’re gearing up for field pilots with major industrial customers, we’re backed by NSF, DoD, and top VCs, and are 1 of 10 companies selected to spend a week with Jeff Bezos at MARS 2024.

⚙️ The Role

We’re looking for a Drone Pilot & Systems Engineer to lead testing and integration of our hybrid aerial/ground robot. You’ll be the go-to pilot for both internal testing and customer deployments—usually inside complex, denied, high-risk environments—and the person we count on to assemble, repair, and tune our custom drone systems in the field.

This is a full-contact role. You’ll be flying in tough conditions, crashing often, fixing fast, and helping us evolve a platform that enables novel inspection methods in legacy industries.

🔍 What We’re Looking For

  • Top-tier piloting skills in tight spaces with lots of prop wash
  • Strong hands-on experience assembling, repairing, and tuning drones
  • Solid soldering and wiring skills; confident with electrical integration
  • Comfortable with PID tuning and basic control systems (PX4, Betaflight, QGC)
  • Familiar with mechanical layout and CAD workflows (full design ownership not needed)
  • A tinkerer who thrives in the field, under pressure, and without a safety net
  • Bonus: experience with 3D printing, CNC machining, and/or general shop tools

🎯 What You’ll Do

  • 0–6 Months: Get us Pilot-Ready

    • Pilot the system for internal testing, customer demos, and field pilots
    • Lead field repairs, hardware swaps, and rapid integration of new components
    • Tune PID parameters and optimize flight control performance Work closely with controls engineers to test new flight behaviors
  • 6–12 Months: Ruggedize the System

    • Support mechanical layout and component integration for new platform designs
    • Contribute to standardizing SOPs using field-tested learnings
    • Help integrate next-gen flight controllers, sensors, and compute
  • 12–24 Months: Scale Operations

    • Assist in building out internal flight test protocols and tooling
    • Help develop customer training solutions using simulations, videos, and manuals
    • Support scaling from prototyping to rugged, field-ready systems

⚠️ Why This Role Matters

This is not just flying drones—you’ll be piloting custom robots that don’t exist anywhere else, and taking them where no robots have gone before. You’ll be a critical link between engineering and reality: testing our system in harsh environments, catching problems before they reach customers, and proving our platform works where it actually counts.

If you’re comfortable under pressure, enjoy being in the field, and love to both build and pilot drones, please get in touch.

Revolute Robotics is an equal opportunity employer.
