Job Description

We are seeking a motivated DevOps Engineer to join our technology team. You are someone who brings extensive experience around architecting AWS deployments using AWS best practices. You will work in a collaborative environment and support/enhance infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, reliability and security for Safely’s production systems. This role is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage the infrastructure needed to run Safely applications
• Update and maintain all the core systems necessary to maintain technology operations in AWS and all secondary cloud platforms
• Implement and maintain system monitoring, alerts and logging to track application availability and performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure the stability and availability of applications
• Manage and setup automated CI/CD pipelines
• Maintain and update the company’s disaster recovery procedures
• Serve as a point of contact with other vendors and providers as needed to implement new applications and support existing ones
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to overall architecture and evolution
• Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role
• Strong experience with AWS and Kubernetes
• Experience managing JVM applications
• Proactive, comfortable in an agile environment
• Experience and familiarity with best practices for managing CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI or a similar tool
• Experience with AWS RDS (MySQL)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing Kafka (self-managed or AWS MSK) and MongoDB is a plus
• Experience with ArgoCD is a plus
• Experience with an IaC tool like Terraform is a plus
