The Folklore Group is looking for Marketing Interns for Spring 2023 (January 2023 - March 2023). Interns will be responsible for assisting The Folklore team with social media content, creating marketing materials, reporting, analysis and assisting with coordination of PR, partnerships and events.
This position is also remote (if you live in New York/New Jersey there will be opportunities to assist on set at fashion photo shoots and at our New York events), so applicants must have access to a working computer and internet. Experience with Canva, Hootsuite and social media business tools is a plus but not required. We are looking for a self-starter who is eager/quick to learn and is comfortable taking initiative and working independently.
This internship is unpaid, therefore only college students who are eligible to receive school credit will be considered.
Requirements
College student, must be eligible to receive school credit
Knowledge or interest in the African fashion industry and global luxury fashion industry
Access to personal computer/internet
Available 2-3 full days a week (plus assisting with posting on weekends)
Strong writing skills
Advanced social media skills
Knowledge of Hootsuite, Canva and Shopify preferred
Must be able to commit to 3 months (Jan-March)
Responsibilities
Schedule social media posts across all platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Tik Tok)
Develop social media content ideas in line with The Folklore aesthetic
Help the Marketing team conceptualize ideas that will increase social media presence and engagement
Help track the results of digital marketing activity
Assist with generating weekly and monthly marketing reports
Assist with research, planning and management of partnerships and events
Updating press database and tracking features
Monitor and analyse competitor marketing activity
Other general administrative tasks
