Job Description

An early career electrical engineer with experience in PCB (Printed Circuit Board) development, prototyping, electrical design, and system troubleshooting. The successful candidate will support efforts to design, develop, and refine electronic systems that meet our rigorous standards for quality and innovation. This position will work closely with WingXpand's senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Electrical system design for robotics (UAS, UGV, and USV), including controllers, power distribution, sensor interfaces, and embedded systems.
  2. Design and develop PCBs, including high-speed digital, analog, power electronics, and RF circuits.
  3. Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electrical systems into airframes, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
  4. Work hands-on with robotics hardware, troubleshooting and iterating designs to meet mission-critical needs.
  5. Support full product lifecycle, from rapid prototyping to full-scale production, ensuring compliance with aerospace and military standards.
  6. Evaluate and select components for high-performance, low-SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power) UAS, along with IPXX ruggedization
  7. Support environmental testing (thermal, EMI/EMC, vibration) and system validation efforts.
  8. Contribute to system-level architecture, ensuring seamless integration of avionics, communications, and AI-driven autonomy.
  9. Participate in testing and flight operations, working closely with test engineers and operators.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on robotics, manufacturing, systems engineering, or a related field.
  2. 0-3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in aerospace or robotics.
  3. Hands-on experience with hardware debugging, signal integrity analysis, and system integration.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and take ownership of assigned tasks.
  5. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a focus on reliability and efficiency.

Additional Qualifications

  1. Proficiency in hardware design tools (Altium, KiCad).
  2. Experience designing electrical systems from prototypes, low-rate to high-volume manufacturing environments.
  3. Hands-on experience with assembly techniques, soldering, and prototype development.
  4. Strong communication skills, capable of leading projects and collaborating with teams across disciplines.
